(Please read: “The Globalization of Higher Education”)
Now that you have finished your program away, you
perhaps have a more nuanced view about the globalization of education through
study away/abroad, especially as this has become a special priority for American
colleges and universities. Even for those of you who have remained in the U.S. you will have noticed the international makeup of your classes in larger cities and programs.
Please think critically about what such an
education aims to provide, how it is marketed to parents and students, what
skills it is meant to help you develop, and at what cost.
So, looking at the entire experience
holistically, what are some of the take-away points you can illustrate through
your personal anecdotes that helps us understand your thoughtful perspective on what this experience has provided in
terms of an ‘education’ about the world and your place in it?
Please use the subject header "Coming Home" for your entry. Thank you!
